The Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant still has many sites awaiting environmental remediation with aging buildings that will have to be removed. But nearly three years after Sunflower Redevelopment LLC acquired the site from the federal government, all structures thought to contain explosive residue have been burned. Sunflower Redevelopment executive director Kise Randall, who led a bus tour of the site Thursday for De Soto city officials and businesses leaders, said development partners are committed to finishing the cleanup in 2012.
