DHS volleyball nets road win at Baldwin

A near sweep avenged a loss from the 2007 Frontier League tournament last Thursday at Baldwin.
Last fall, the Baldwin Bulldogs beat the De Soto Wildcats in the seventh-place match. But the Wildcats turned the tide on the Bulldogs' home court and defeated Baldwin, 3-1.
"This was a nice win," De Soto coach Jenny Barnhart said. "Whenever we play Baldwin, it's a battle."
"This is a completely different team than last year," Barnhart said of her squad.
De Soto placed third at the Marion Tournament last Saturday. De Soto defeated Centre and Canton Galva two games to zero and Marion two games to one. The Wildcats lost to Wichita Collegiate and Sedgwick two games to one in the Championship round.
De Soto (9-8) will play a home triangular with Sumner and Jeff North Sept. 25.
