Newspaper rates to rise for delivery
January 9, 2008
The De Soto Explorer will increase its subscription rates effective Jan. 10, Christopher J. Bell, the newspaper’s circulation manager said Monday.
The yearly rate for a subscription will increase to $37 plus tax per year in Johnson, Douglas, Leavenworth and Wyandotte counties. Elsewhere in Kansas will increase to $55 plus tax per year. Outside the state of Kansas, subscription prices will increase to $60 per year.
The increase is the first since 2002.
The rate increase will take effect upon a customer’s renewal date.
“The subscription increase is needed for us to keep pace with the rising cost of postage, newsprint, ink and fuel prices,” Bell said.
