Willow Springs FCE hears of women empowerment
December 27, 2007
The Willow Springs FCE met Dec. 18 at De Soto Baptist Church. The meeting date was changed because of inclement weather. All members were hostesses.
The tables were decorated with red cloths and Christmas ornaments as well as lip balms and greeting cards.
Dorothy Nalley gave the table grace before the luncheon.
A gift certificate was given to retiring president ElFreeda Payton.
Dorothy Nalley won the "pig" brought by ElFreeda Payton.
Roll call was answered by "What I Want For Christmas." Reta Jenks' granddaughter and Rick Nichols were guests. Several were unable to attend because of work or other appointments.
The minutes from November were read and Leona Robinson gave the treasurer's report. She paid the church fee.
The group had a gift exchange and no one received the gift they brought.
Dorothy Nalley gave the lesson on "Women in Power in the World." She also gave some health and medical facts.
The next meeting will be Jan. 18 with Dorothy Nalley as the hostess.
